A combination of health issues and old age contributed to the decision to end our RV travel adventures in the summer of 2025. Deb and I got tired of the constant moving from one place to another and the constant tearing down and setting up.
While we enjoyed the 5 years we spent on the road and were glad we did it, we knew at some point we were going to have to settle down in one place. Years ago, when Deb and I first got together we traveled to Phoenix, Arizona and was very pleased with the southwestern way of life, environment, and the people. It was then that we decided when we retired, we would retire somewhere in the southwest.
Our last two years we spent our winters at Far Horizons RV Resort in Tucson, Arizona where they have plenty of activities, workshops, and people who enjoy staying active. We liked it so much we actually bought a park model towards the end of our second winter/spring stay.
Deb has decided to work as a staff nurse at the hospital that she worked at the last couple of winters in Tucson. The people there love her, and she loves the people she works with. They really didn't want her to leave after her second winter/spring rotation stay, but we had to go home for the summer and part of the fall so Deb could spend time with her mother who is getting up there in the years.
Deb actually worked at the Ohio State University Hospital during our visit to Ohio in 2025 and we stayed at Cross Creek Campground in my Son's Montana Fifth Wheel. We thought we were going to have to stay in a hotel, bed and breakfast, or rent a house since we sold our Motorhome not long after we got back to Ohio. That's when my Son offered up his RV for us to stay in while Deb worked at OSU.
Below are some pictures of our park model home at Far Horizons RV Resort that we purchased before we left Tucson in 2025. So, yes, we are now residents of the State of Arizona, but we will still visit Ohio to see Family and Friends on a regular basis. Enjoy the pictures and be sure to visit the Far Horizons RV Resort website to learn more about the lifestyle we have chosen for our retirement years.
Before we closed
All of the furniture was staged in the park model
It was all removed; we replaced it with new furniture
