Our trip home to Ohio from Tucson, Arizona in June of 2024 was a really hard trip between Albuquerque and Amarillo. We had two flat tires that blew on the Motorhome at different locations and time. Both of the tires that blew were on the driver's side. First the rear outside tire blew and took out the cargo compartment which spew Deb's paperwork and clothes all over the freeway. We were only about 2 hours out from Albuquerque. The driver's steering tire blew just 40 miles from our next stop in Amarillo. When it blew, it threw the Motorhome from the right lane across 2 lanes of traffic into the median. I was fortunate enough to know what to do and was able to steer the Motorhome back across the lanes of traffic and into the breakdown lane to park until we got help. I am very thankful for the truckers that I had just passed who fanned out across the freeway to hold the traffic back while I was trying to get our Motorhome and Jeep under control and into the breakdown lane. Below are photos and a clip from the dashcam. We are lucky to be alive. Deb still has PTSD from the incident. It was the first time she had sat up front with me while I was driving down the road and it is most likely the last because she was scared to death and didn't think we would make it out alive.
